How does the 1-Inch Edition handle slow motion?

It supports up to 120fps at 2.7K (16:9) or 100fps at 1080p for 4x slow-mo. No 4K120fps. For extreme slow-mo you need the 4K Boost mod (at lower resolution) or a GoPro.

Does the 1-Inch Edition support GPS or telemetry?

No built-in GPS. You can use a phone via Bluetooth for location data, but it's not as accurate as GoPro's GPS. Telemetry overlay requires manual syncing in app.

What's the maximum storage supported?

MicroSD card up to 1TB (UHS-I, V30 or faster recommended). Insta360 recommends SanDisk Extreme Pro. High bitrate 5.3K requires a fast card.

Can I use this with the ONE R 4K Boost mod's battery base?

Accepted Answer

No. The 1-Inch mod requires its own dedicated battery base (included). The 4K Boost mod uses a different base that is not compatible. Each mod has a specific base due to different connectors and sizes.

Is there a time-lapse or night-lapse mode?

Yes, the camera includes TimeShift (hyperlapse), time-lapse, and night-lapse modes. Max interval is 60 seconds for stills. You can also create in-camera hyperlapses.

Is there a guarantee on the waterproofness?

Accepted Answer

The camera itself is not waterproof. Only the dive case provides IPX8 protection. Insta360 does not cover water damage without the case. Use caution near water.

Can I use an external microphone?

Yes, via a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter (not included). The camera supports standard TRS and TRRS mics. Audio quality improves significantly over internal mics in windy conditions.

Does the 1-Inch version overheat like some GoPro models?

Accepted Answer

It can get warm during prolonged 5.3K recording, but thermal management is better than GoPro Hero11/12. Recordings are limited to about 30 minutes per file, but you can restart quickly. No reports of abrupt shutdowns.
