Does the filter fit other Hario carafes?

The MCP-3 filter is designed specifically for the Mizudashi 1000ml. It will not fit Hario's standard V60 drip carafe or other narrow-neck jars.

Does the silicone band come off for cleaning?

Yes, the red silicone band is removable. Slip it off carefully to clean the carafe thoroughly and dry the band separately to prevent mold.

Can I brew a half batch in this carafe?

Yes, you can use less water and coffee. The filter still works well as long as the water level covers the grounds. Some users prefer a 500ml batch.

How do I remove stains from the glass carafe?

Use a mild bleach solution (1:10 bleach to water) or a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. Let soak for 15 minutes, then scrub with a bottle brush.

Can I use a paper filter inside the mesh to get even clearer coffee?
