Before unboxing, ensure the mesh system matches your internet speed and home size. For gigabit connections, look for Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) systems like the TP-Link Deco X60 or Netgear Orbi. For smaller homes or lower budgets, Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) systems like the TP-Link Deco M4 suffice. Check coverage ratings – a 2-pack typically covers about 3,000 sq ft, while a 3-pack covers up to 5,500 sq ft. Also verify compatibility with your modem (most mesh systems work with any modem).
